Company History

When PDC was established in 1992 by Shakil Ahmed, we had three employees personally designing competitively priced, high performance file servers and workstations for various business applications. We worked primarily with government agencies on a per contract basis. Since January of 1994, we extended our services to the private sector, providing computers for corporations, computer consultants, system integrators and network service providers. We work very closely with our customers and to that end; believe that staying small is important to having long-term relationships with our customers.

In 2000 we expanded our business to include network design, installation and consulting as a natural extension to our computer sales. We have strengthened partnerships with mainstream hardware and software vendors such as Microsoft and Intel.

In 2003 PDC became the Dentrix Independent Representative for the state of Hawaii, building on our already established computer and network installation base in the dental industry. We also began offering our own locally hosted spam filter service in 2004.

Now, in 2012, we have a staff of 12 with 6 technicians and have partnerships and certification from many well known names in the industry such as Dell, Lenovo, SonicWALL, and Liebert.

Our Philosophy

PDC provides computers for corporations, computer consultants, system integrators and network service providers. The company also supports a myriad of companies across various industries, including legal, dental, real estate, and educational institutions.

Although PDC employs a relatively small number of workers, they nonetheless are one of the elite IT teams in the state of Hawaii. Having a leaner workforce has also translated into closer relationships with customers, greater control on quality, service, and flexibility, and the ability to maintain that relationship for the long-term.

For all of our 20 years of service to the Hawaii community, (which includes 15 years within the dental community and 6 years as the primary Dentrix representative), PDC has been able to thrive by always staying true to our core strengths of hardware and integration services. However, the ability to adapt to Hawaii's economic changes has allowed PDC to evolve our value-added services to better address the needs of our customers.

PDC Systems has been recognized with numerous business awards in recent years with distinctions such as: CRN's "50 Leading System Builders", PBN's "Hawaii's Fastest 50" for 3 years, Earnst and Young "Entrepreneur of the Year", Intel Premier Provider from 1999 to 2010 and Dell Certified Partner in 2011.
