JOB DESCRIPTION:
PDC is currently seeking a professional individual with good communication and troubleshooting skills to work in our technical support department. This individual will provide on-site and remote assistance to our clients state-wide. Responsibilities include: ensuring continuing operation and maintenance of production servers, desktops and related equipment and deployment of new and upgrade equipment and software. This is a full-time position however applicant must also be able to accommodate working outside of standard business hours.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Provide phone, remote and e-mail support for clients statewide
• Provide on-site support to clients as needed
• Implement project plans as directed by supervising manager
• Recommend new hardware and software for infrastructure upgrades
• Troubleshoot systems that are not operational, determine source of problem and resolve
• Work with private vendors to resolve technical problems
• Upgrade software and hardware on servers
• Ensure backup and disaster recovery plans are implemented
• Maintain technical support documentation
• Report daily via email to supervising manager
• Complete billing and work logs in a timely manner
• Manage calls and perform follow-up calls as necessary
• Meet customer expectations of excellent service
REQUIREMENTS:
• A+ and Network+ or MCP certification required, MCSA MCSE or MCITP certification is a plus
• 2+ years required work experience in hardware troubleshooting
• 1+ year required troubleshooting experience with Windows Server and Exchange Server
• Excellent working knowledge of Active Directory topology, DNS, Terminal Services, and VPN
• Disaster Recovery Planning, Virtualization, and routing knowledge a plus
• Must be neat and detail-oriented, friendly, customer service oriented and punctual
• Must be able to work and research independently and with minimal supervision
• Must be able to communicate well with both peers and clients
• Must have a car and provide own transportation to and from client sites
COMPENSATION:
Salary is negotiable and based on level of experience, education, and certifications. All applicants will be put on a 3 month probationary period. After completion of the probationary period, PDC provides medical, vision and dental benefits.
